Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect to serve as the crucial link between business and software development. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall structure and architectural relationships at the highest levels of the solution. Coding or deep technical expertise is not a requirement for this position, though familiarity with basic technical concepts will be considered an advantage.

Role Responsibilities

As a Senior Solution Architect, your primary responsibility is to maintain a clear overview and ensure coherence across multiple solutions. You will ensure that architectural designs align with and support the organization’s strategic business goals. The role involves acting as a sparring partner to business leaders, product management, and development teams. You will define the frameworks and design principles for solutions, while developers will handle the technical implementation and coding aspects.

Key Tasks

  • Analyze and challenge business needs, translating them into effective solution designs.
  • Describe and communicate architectural concepts, interfaces, and system landscapes.
  • Ensure consistency and coherence across different systems, domains, and initiatives.
  • Make architectural decisions at a high-level functional and structural perspective.
  • Spar with development teams regarding solution choices, without assuming technical responsibility.
  • Engage in dialogues with stakeholders, customers, and partners to facilitate understanding and collaboration.
  • Occasionally handle smaller tenders, including preparing competitive offers.

What the Role Does Not Include

  • Daily coding tasks.
  • Responsibility for technical details at the framework or library level.
  • Functioning as a “super developer.”

Competency Profile

  • Extensive experience with software solutions in complex organizations.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand and integrate larger contexts.
  • Excellent communication skills for conveying architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven experience in collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and business units.
  • Confidence in decision-making and commitment to upholding those decisions.
  • Knowledge of tenders and the preparation of competitive offers.
  • A technical background is desirable, but deep specialist knowledge is not mandatory.

What We Offer

  • A central role with significant influence within the organization.
  • Close cooperation with both business units and development teams.
  • Focus on quality, integrity, and sustainable solutions.
  • A professionally strong environment characterized by clear roles and division of responsibilities.
